Tara Clayson-Fisher began working in hospital pharmacy at Flinders Medical Centre in 2011. Working in an advanced role as a Clinical Pharmacy Technician for the Respiratory and Cardiac units, she has been credentialed to take best possible patient medication histories and provides support to the clinical pharmacist.
Tara is currently on a short term secondment at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital as the Technician Team Leader and Imprest Manager, and is enjoying the new challenges and opportunities this role brings.
Tara has a passion for good patient care and is a strong advocate for the advancement of the technician role.

Where do you see pharmacy in 10 years?
As pharmacists roles continue to advance I hope to see a clearly defined career structure for pharmacy technicians. I hope to see the industry evolve beyond talking about technician advancement to honestly embracing and facilitating it.
