Dr James Edwards is a Senior Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). James was recently appointed as the Clinical Director of the Sydney Local Health District Demand Management Unit overseeing patient flow across the health district.
Dr Edwards is the current Clinical Chair of the NSW Prevocational Training council at the Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) and previously held the position of Director of Prevocational Education and Training at RPAH for six years. In the Sydney University Medical Program, he chairs the pre-internship committee that aims to
smooth the transition from medical school to internship.
James has a strong interest in teaching and education and has completed a Masters of Medical Education at the University of Sydney. He was awarded the NSW Geoff Marel award in 2013 in recognition of his contribution to the welfare and education of junior doctors.
James is also the founder of the website www.onthewards.org which is designed to assist medical practitioners in their earliest days of postgraduate practice.
